From now until the elections it is my intent to comment weekly on a significant newsworthy item.

Obamanomics

"Recently, Pres Obama stated that the recession was over.  I am not sure he checked with any economic advisors or the millions of Americans who are out of work, underemployed or have stopped looking for work.  We are not out of the recession, and will not until policies that promote job creation and economic growth and not public sector jobs are enacted.  High taxes, excessive regulations and government red tape are the reason business owners are not and will not hire or expand their businesses.  The stock market has once again dipped below the 10000 mark; and is a leading indicator of the future business climate.  There is no confidence whatsoever in the current democratic Congress and all the businesses I have talked to are telling me they will sit on the sidelines-not hire nor invest in their business- until Congress changes hands in the upcoming elections and becomes fiscally prudent, lowers taxes, fees, and red tape; and lets businesses profit or fail on their own, in true free enterprise fashion, that our founding fathers intended."

Mosque at Ground Zero

"This week I am commenting on our President's inability to take a stand or position on a topic of national importance. Notwithstanding the freedom of religion rights as set forth in the First Amendment to the Constitution,  I am not in favor of building a mosque at Ground Zero for the same reason that I would not be in favor of someone building a Japanese cultural center at Pearl Harbor or placing a statue of Hitler at the entrance to Auschwitz.  It simply lacks common sense and is insensitive to those that lost family members and loved ones on 9/11 as well as all citizens of our great nation.  There are approximately one hundred mosques in New York City already. Not allowing one mosque to be built at ground zero is not going to impede anyone from practicing their faith and in my opinion, it begs the question, what is the intent of building one at that location? I can think of no logical reason as to why this idea is being pursued."
